Brian Grinter – Project Manager Lechase Construction
Project Status: Cornell University has entered into a contract with Lechase Construction Inc. to build the new Bailey Plaza. Stone for the project is currently being fabricated @ a Quarry in Eastern New York. Approximate start date for onsite activities is March 19th weather permitting and will be complete August 17th.
Traffic Patterns (The weeks of 5/14 – 8/19): Traffic patterns will resemble the intent of the completed project and will open up the new roadway in front of Malott Hall to 2 way traffic and pedestrian traffic allowing access to all buildings within this area. The roadway will have the final topping installed in early August but this will have minimal impact on the surrounding areas.. We will also be installing temporary walks @ Bailey Hall to accommodate the variety of events to be held there throughout the project, this will entail altering the fencing around Bailey several times. We will include information about these modifications in the web site weekly updates.
6-01-07: Notice: *Garden Avenue Ext will remain down to one lane of traffic thru June 22. * Emergency vehicles and Tractor Trailer trucks will be allowed to access Garden Ave Ext. All other vehicles will be directed around Bailey Plaza and Bailey Hall. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around Roberts Hall. The contractor will continue to work on a water line that is located at the Northwest corner of Roberts and runs East to West across Garden Ave Ext. If you have any questions please call Marijane Johnson at 327-0966.
7-19-07: Notice: The sidewalk along Garden Ave (in front of Roberts Hall) is opened for pedestrian traffic. However, Garden Ave will remain closed for vehicular traffic until July 27th, *allowing access to emergency vehicles and tractor trailers* *only*. The contractor will be installing curb on the East side of Bailey Plaza on Wednesday, July 25th.
8-7-07: Notice:
- On Monday 8/6 installation and patching of sidewalks will take place.
- On Tuesday, 8/7 the road in front of Malott Hall will be closed for paving. Flagmen will direct tractor trailers behind Bailey Hall, but we are asking that all building coordinators avoid tractor trailer deliveries for this day.
